Hendry sets up White clash
Hendry got off to a great start against King

Stephen Hendry 6-3 Mark King

Stephen Hendry progressed to the last eight of the B&H Masters but Mark King made him earn his 6-3 win after Hendry began at a rate of knots.

After winning the first two frames comfortably, a Hendry positional error let in King for him to make it 2-1.

Hendry hit back in the fourth but had no luck in the fifth and a missed blue allowed the Englishman to pull it back to 3-2.

King hit a 71 break for 3-3 and Hendry edged a close seventh before taking the next with a 107 break to move within one frame of the next round.

King's wait for a B&H Masters win goes on as Hendry closed out the ninth frame to take the match.

Hendry seemed relaxed after a win that sets up a mouth-watering quarter-final clash with Jimmy White on Friday.

"The problem when you're flying is that you expect too much of yourself.

"It was not a vintage display but it was enough to win," said Hendry.

Wembley was buzzing after White's win over Peter Ebdon and Hendry was full of praise for his old rival's comeback.

"It was phenomenal. I'm looking forward to a quiet game on Friday," he joked.
