But Doherty seems to have the edge on his opponent, and is delighted as he takes his fourth frame in succession to go into the break with a healthy lead.

Doherty wins the scrappiest frame so far, with a certain amount of luck helping him, although he does play more quality shots as well.

Doherty has won the first three frames after the mid-session interval and Henry will be alarmed at the momentum the Irishman has built up.

Frame six:
For the sixth consecutive frame, there is a break more than 40, this time from Doherty, whose brilliant 85 is his best of the match so far.

The Irishman takes a two-set lead for the first time, and is in sparkling form. Henry has not done much wrong, but Doherty is punishing any small error.

Frame five:
Doherty returns refreshed from the interval with a fine break of 72 to edge in front once more.

Henry began well, and built up a 43-0 lead. But both players are looking sharp, and a small error ultimately cost the Scotsman the frame.

Frame four:
Henry deservedly levels the frame scores for the mid-session interval.

It has been a high-quality opening to the match, and Henry's closing break of 79 shows Henry is not suffering from nerves.

Frame three:
A scrappy opening to the frame sees Henry come back to lead after falling behind to Doherty early on.

But Doherty regains his composure and produces a string of impressive pots to make a break of 52, his biggest of the match so far, and take the frame.

Doherty responds well, and is always in control of the second frame, starting with a break of 37 and finishing with a break of 44.

Both players are producing high-quality safety play, both are potting well, and neither man has made many errors.

Frame one:
Doherty is first to crack after a tense opening spell during which both players concentrate on safety.

Henry takes full advantage with the reds well split, and boosts his confidence with a stylish break of 89 to win the opening frame.
