Kostelic undergoes knee operation
Croatia's Janica Kostelic
Kostelic has been plagued by illness and injury problems
Triple Olympic ski champion Janica Kostelic has had a sixth operation on her troubled right knee.

The Croat, who missed the 2003-04 season after thyroid gland surgery, had damaged cartilage removed at a hospital in Austria.

She will be able to resume light training in two months and should be back to full fitness ahead of the season, which starts in October.

This year, the 23-year-old just missed out on the overall World Cup title.

Croatian ski federation spokesman Ozren Muller said: "The operation was successful and Janica feels fine."
