Olympic hopeful embroiled in shooting range row

Charlotte Kerwood has won Commonwealth Games gold and taken part in the Beijing Olympics with her shotgun, but she now faces a battle with her home town's residents which could affect her chances of a medal at London 2012.

Kerwood travels from her home in Fletching, East Sussex, to Dorset to train on a full Olympic layout.

She had hoped to extend the facilities at her local shooting range, Northall Clay Pigeon Club, so she can train closer to home, but the plans have been rejected by the parish council after nearby neighbours expressed concerns about the noise.

BBC South East Today's Juliette Parkin reports.
