rowing
Chun Wei Cheung, who coxed the Dutch men's eight to Olympic silver at the 2004 Games in Athens has died aged 34 from a rare form of liver cancer.

Chun only discovered his illness in August after coxing the Dutch eight at the World Championships at Eton. He also coxed at Henley earlier this year.

Just before his death Chun was made an honorary member of Nereus, his old university rowing club in Amsterdam.

Dutch coach Mark Emke described him as "a friendly and lively character".
