An exhausted Oxford crew celebrate their 2005 success
The 2006 Boat Race between Oxford and Cambridge Universities will take place at 1635 BST on Sunday, 2 April.

This year's event saw Oxford, who weighed in as the heaviest Boat Race crew of all time, gain revenge for their loss to the Light Blues in 2004.

Cambridge begin the 2005-06 season with a new coach, Duncan Holland, replacing Robin Williams who has taken on a role with the Great Britain team.

Sean Bowden, the Oxford coach, will be seeking to add to his victory tally.

Cambridge lead the series 78-72 overall in a River Thames contest which dates back to 1829.
