Olympic champion Chris Hoy will help choose the design for the London 2012 Velopark cycling venue.
The six-time world champion will sit with designers and architects on the panel selecting the winning proposal from eight shortlisted bidders.
The panel is expected to announce the winning design later in the summer with the venue set for completion next year.
The Velopark will include a velodrome, BMX circuit, a road circuit and a mountain bike course.
"I am delighted to be on the panel that will be selecting a design team for the Velopark," said Hoy, who won the 1km time trial at the Athens Olympics.
"It promises to be a fantastic venue for both the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and in legacy."
Designs will be chosen based on innovation, their ability to provide a world class facility as well as leaving a lasting legacy.
"The Velopark will provide a lasting legacy of brand new cycling facilities for all ages and abilities," said Olympic Delivery Authority chief executive David Higgins.
"We want to ensure that this is as comprehensive and wide-ranging as possible within the confines of the site.
"We are continuing to discuss how we best achieve this with British Cycling and other user groups."
