Team Bath seal netball final spot

Team Bath beat Loughborough Lightning 62-55 to book their place in netball's Superleague final and consign their opponents to a second play-off match.

League leaders Bath edged a thrilling first three periods to lead Monday's game at the University of Bath 44-42.

And the home side upped the pace in the final period, capitalising on some unforced errors to ease to victory.

Lightning host Mavericks in the second game on Saturday, hoping to earn the right to play Team Bath in the final.

This year the final will be held at the Coventry Skydome on Saturday, 4 April at 1930 GMT.

Team Bath coach Jess Garland said: "The girls really earned this result.

"In the past we've found it really hard to live with Loughborough in the mid-court but we played well to make it a comprehensive win."
