Nottingham Panthers' play-off finals preparations have been given a boost by the news that netminder Craig Kowalski is to stay at the club next season.

The 30-year-old American has been one of the Panthers' leading performers this term, and was instrumental in their Challenge Cup final victory.

He said: "Why would I want to play anywhere else in this country? It's a top club, great fans and a great city.

"I want to do my best for Nottingham. I love it here," Kowalski added.

Meanwhile, five of Kowalski's team-mates have been included in the Great Britain squad for next month's internationals against Holland.

Panthers player-coach Corey Neilson is named for the first time, having received a British passport, and he is joined by Danny Meyers, David Clarke, Matthew Myers and Rob Lachowicz.
