Hull have enjoyed 'great' season - Cloutier

Hull Stingrays coach Sylvain Cloutier says the club have enjoyed a "great season" considering they almost went out of business last summer.

The Stingrays finished seventh in the Elite League and now face Cardiff Devils in the play-offs.

Cloutier told BBC Look North: "It's been a great season but we've been through our ups and downs.

"We put a team together in three weeks and you have to give these guys credit as they've done a great job."

The Stingrays were threatened with closure when former owners Mike and Sue Pack decided they could no longer finance the club's debt.

They were saved at the 11th hour by the owners of Coventry Blaze and were allowed to start the season later than the league's other clubs as they frantically recruited new players.
