Coventry Blaze have boosted their forward line with the signing of teenager Robert Farmer.

The 19-year-old, who played for Canadian outfit Ottawa 67s in the summer, joins Blaze after being released by Manchester Phoenix.

Farmer has helped Great Britain to success at junior level.

Coventry hope the paperwork can be processed in time for the forward to feature in the weekend double-header against Newcastle Vipers.

Blaze head coach Paul Thompson said: "He is going to give us the depth that we've been lacking in the roster so far this season.

"He's a big lad with huge potential and I know that he will make an impact in our line up.

"I had the chance to look at him first hand at the last senior Great Britain training camp and obviously we all saw the impact he had when he came into the league last season."
