Clarke re-joined Panthers in 2008 after a season in Italy
Nottingham Panthers forward David Clarke says the players are desperate to make amends for last weekend's back-to-back defeats against Belfast Giants.
Panthers were humbled 6-3 in Belfast on Friday night and were humiliated 4-0 at the National Ice Centre 24 hours later.
Cardiff Devils visit on Sunday and Clarke told BBC Radio Nottingham that the team simply must improve.
"We feel like we let a lot of people down by performing how we did but it's about how you respond," he said.
"We want to be able to prove it's a one off. We will not play like that every week. We can redeem ourselves.
"This week we have worked our socks off to get back to where we were playing in September.
"We are still optimistic but disappointed how we performed and we are going to look rectify that.
"It's about having the ability as a whole club to dig deep and get through the tough times.
"We have a lot of guys on the team who have been successful elsewhere and at this club. We have the dressing room and the guys to achieve this and this Sunday we have to make sure we are ready."
