The Belfast Giants continued their defence of the Challenge Cup with a thumping 9-2 win over the Edinburgh Capitals at the Odyssey on Friday.

They were four up inside 12 minutes thanks to two scores from Pierre-Luc Faubert and others by Colin Shields and Craig Peacock.

Edinburgh hit back with goals from Owen Fussey and Chris Allen.

Shields, Pat Bateman, Brandon Benedict and Peacock racked up more scores and Faubert sealed his hat-trick late on.
