Cowley hit the 20-goal mark for the first time last season
Coventry Blaze have secured the services of Great Britain international Russell Cowley for three more seasons.
Cowley, in his second spell with Blaze, has already spent seven terms at the Skydome and is fifth on the all-time appearance list.
The 25-year-old recently picked up both the coach's and players' player awards.
Cowley told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "There was some serious interest from other clubs but my first choice was always to re-sign."
He added: "I love it here. I've had a lot of success since I came here and I want more of that.
I'm very, very pleased to have Russ back with us

"It's nice to have a rest after a long season with Blaze and GB, but already I'm excited about next season and am looking forward to getting going again."
Cowley has made 420 appearances for Coventry and has helped them win two Elite League titles, the Knockout Cup, the Challenge Cup, the Elite League play-offs and the British National League and Cup double.
Capped 41 times by the national side Cowley also returned from April's World Championships in Poland with a bronze medal.
His club and GB coach Paul Thompson added: "I'm very, very pleased to have Russ back with us.
"When you look at the outstanding season he had last year, both for the Blaze and for Great Britain, it was no surprise that several other big clubs were seriously after his signature."
