Miles scored 45 points in 96 matches for the Flames
Guildford Flames forward Terry Miles is to leave the club after not being offered a new contract.
The 25-year-old joined the Surrey outfit during the summer of 2007 and featured in the Championship winning side the following season.
Flames coach Paul Dixon said: "This was a very difficult decision to make. He is a great guy in the dressing room.
"He has been a great servant of this team for two seasons and we wish him nothing but the best with a new side."
Dixon said the decision not to offer Miles fresh terms was not based on his performance or ability.
"Terry takes care of his fitness, he works hard and he puts the team objectives at the top of the priority list," he said.
"In terms of his play, he has done nothing that indicates he should necessarily be a casualty of our changes. However, we have a plan for the re-structuring of our team and Terry will not get the kind of ice time that suits the nature of his game and the contribution he is able to make to a club.
"The best decision for everyone involved is to make him available to find better options for his game."
