Nottingham Panthers coach Corey Neilson has signed a new contract until the end of next season.

Neilson has been at the club since 2006, but took over as coach from Mike Ellis in the summer of last year.

Neilson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I love it here and I believe this is the best coaching job available anywhere.

"I am thrilled with the fact that it's such a great atmosphere and place, and it's so positive. I can be a player and a coach and wear those two hats."

Neilson was brought to Nottingham by Ellis three years ago and has helped secure two trophies for the club.

In 2007, Neilson converted two penalty shots as Panthers lifted the play-off championship for the first time in 18 years.

Last year, Neilson was part of the Panthers side which beat Sheffield over two legs to win the Challenge Cup.
