Koulikov suffers injury setback

Hull Stingrays forward Slava Koulikov has been told he can not play for another month.

The Ukrainian broke his collarbone last month and after visiting a specialist his comeback has been put on hold.

The 29-year-old told BBC Radio Humberside: "I went for a X-ray and they told me it's healing but it hasn't healed yet.

"It will be another three or four weeks. It's a bit of a blow because I would like to be on the ice now."

The Stingrays have been without Koulikov, who is also the club's assistant coach, for the last seven games after he broke his collarbone in the final minute of the home game against Coventry at the Hull Arena.

Koulikov was hoping to come into contention for the Rays' Elite League clash against Newcastle at the Hull Arena on Saturday night and that has left him frustrated with the length of time he has been sidelined.

He added: "I told our stick boy at the club to set up my stall in the dressing room ready for the game and I was all excited and the news wasn't what I wanted to hear."
