Cardiff Devils 1-0 Nottingham

Ice hockey

Jason Silverthorn's overtime strike ended Cardiff Devils' miserable four-match losing streak against Nottingham Panthers at the Cardiff Bay Arena.

Silverthorn scored one minute and 25 second into sudden death as the Devils clinched a vital Elite League win.

Boxing hero Joe Calzaghe cheered the Devils to victory as man-of-the-match Cardiff netminder Peter Aubry secured his first shutout of the season.

It was first time this season that the Panthers had failed to score.
