Tigers face financial meltdown

Telford Tigers are fighting for their future after the shock withdrawal of sponsors Eurologix on the eve of the new English Premier League season.

The club has been forced to cancel the contracts of newly-signed players, including several Canadian imports.

"It's a devastating shock, and we're working hard to try to find a way round it," team manager Dave Candlin told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"Can we start the season? I really don't know at this stage."

Whatever happens, Candlin insists that Tigers will live on, with the second-string English National League side carrying on the club name if the first team does ultimately fail.
