Stanley Cup-winning coach Mike Keenan has quit his job as general manager of the NHL's Florida Panthers.
The team confirmed in a statement that Head coach Jacques Martin will assume the general manager duties.
Keenan ranks fourth on the NHL's all-time wins list with a 584-471-147 record, coaching seven teams.
He won a Stanley Cup with the New York Rangers in 1994 and also guided the Philadelphia Flyers and Chicago Blackhawks to the NHL Finals.
Keenan, 57, was hired as GM and named Martin as coach in May 2004.
After the lockout erased the 2004-05 campaign, the Panthers finished in 11th place in the Eastern Conference with 85 points last season.
Keenan coached Florida for parts of three seasons before he was fired by former general manager Rick Dudley in November of 2003.
Dudley was fired after that season and replaced by Keenan.
