Nottingham Panthers will be Britain's representatives in next season's Continental Cup.
Elite League champions Belfast and play-off winners Newcastle opted not to take part - so Nottingham, who finished third in the league, have stepped in.
"It adds another angle to the upcoming season," new head coach Mike Ellis told his club's website.
"It could be a big boost on the recruitment front with the attraction of playing in European competition."
The Panthers last took part in the competition in 2004 when they beat Amiens and Ljubljana, and drew with Milan, narrowly bowing out on goal difference.
They will again be seeded for the competition and will start in round two, which takes place over the weekend of 13 October.
