Cardiff Devils brought an end to 20 years of competitive ice hockey at the Wales National Ice Rink with a fine play-off win over Edinburgh Capitals.
The Devils, who will be moving into a new lair next season, went 4-0 up with goals from Louis Goulet (2), Jeff Burgoyne and Neil Francis.
Edinburgh replied through Mike Barbon and Jeff Marshall.
But Rejean Stringer ensured a Devils player had the honour of scoring the final goal with Cardiff's fifth.
The Devils face Sheffield Steelers in Nottingham next Saturday in the play-off semi-final.
But before then, the Devils will commemorate their 20-year history at the WNIR on Tuesday night when old and new players will play in the End of an Era match.
