The Belfast Giants begin a series of five home matches in the Elite League when they entertain the Newcastle Vipers at the Odyssey on Saturday.
The visitors lie third in the table but have yet to record a victory in three meetings with their hosts this season.
Meanwhile, the Giants face Edinburgh Capitals in the first round of the new British Ice Hockey Cup.
Belfast will travel to Scotland for the first leg on 2 January with the return leg at the Odyssey on 14 January.
Two victories on the road against the Capitals last weekend boosted the Giants' position as tabletoppers.
A minute's silence in memory of George Best will be held prior to the Giants' first home match since his death.
