Cardiff Devils have added defenceman Regan Darby to their roster as they continue to strengthen for the new Elite League season.
The 24-year-old arrives in Britain for the first time having spent most of his career in the East Coast Hockey League and American Hockey League.
Last season Darby iced for Augusta Lynx and Charlotte Checkers, before a brief spell with Binghamton Senators.
"Regan Darby is a tough defenceman," Devils coach Ed Patterson said.
"He will be a great fit for a guy like Burgy (Jeff Burgoyne) to play with.
"Regan has been up and down from the AHL to the East Coast his whole career, so he too is another solid signing."
Darby was a fourth-round draft pick by Vancouver Canucks in 1998, but turned pro in the 2000-01 season with the Kansas City Blades.
The 6ft 2in, 200lb native of Estevan, Saskatchewan, will provide some welcome steel to the Devils' defensive line.
Darby's capture follows the Devils' recruitment of Canadian pair Mike Garrow - another defenceman - and centre Louis Goulet.
