Snow Fairy to remain in training after Hong Kong win

Snow Fairy put in a late surge to secure the win in Hong Kong

Snow Fairy's trainer Ed Dunlop has confirmed the filly will remain in training next year after her impressive win in the Hong Kong Cup on Sunday.

The dual Oaks winner came through from way back late on under Ryan Moore to beat home favourite Irian by a neck.

It was her fourth Grade One success after last month's Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup in Japan.

"She will definitely stay in training, no question, and she could be back here next year," said Dunlop.

"To do it against the colts for the first time in her life puts her down as an exceptional horse, there can be no doubt over that.

"All credit to my staff who have worked so hard on an amazing day for the yard.

"I thought it was too close between races to run her after Japan and she didn't gallop for seven weeks."

The victory takes her career earnings to over £2m but Moore admitted afterwards that at the top of the bend he thought he had no chance of victory.

"She quickened up so well and is an absolute machine to do what she did," said the champion jockey.

"They went fast into the first turn and then steadied. She has such a brilliant turn of foot.

"You would struggle to find too many fillies that could have done what she did."
