Baby-faced Buick has been compared to Frankie Dettori

Jockey William Buick won the Prix Morny at Deauville on Dream Ahead to complete a transatlantic double within 16 hours. Dream Ahead landed the French contest at just before 1500 BST on Sunday to give Newmarket trainer David Simcock his first Group One success. On Saturday night, Buick had won the Arlington Million 4,000 miles away in Chicago on Debussy for John Gosden. Buick, 22, the joint champion British apprentice rider in 2008, is rated as one of Flat racing's rising stars. Gosden has likened the Norwegian-born rider to Frankie Dettori, and recruited him as stable jockey in January 2010. Buick had the Prix Morny wrapped up after he guided his mount, an 8-1 chance, to challenge at the furlong marker in the six-furlong contest. Dream Ahead finished well clear of Tin Horse, while other British-trained contenders Libranno, Al Aasifh, Soraaya and Irish Field were out of the places. The winner has been installed as a 16-1 chance for the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket in May 2011. His Group One win came just weeks after a nine-length debut victory at Nottingham.
