Champion jockey Ryan Moore's hopes of retaining his title have been dealt a blow after he was banned for two days.

Moore, who rides Derby winner Workforce in Saturday's King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, is 14 winners behind Paul Hanaghan in the title race.

Epsom stewards said on Thursday that the ban was for "allowing his mount to drift right, causing the second to have to alter from its original line".

Moore's ban will cover Thursday 5 August and Friday 6 August.
