Crack Away set for Champion tilt

Hampshire trainer Emma Lavelle says her stable's flagship horse Crack Away Jack "has never been better" as he heads to the Cheltenham Festival.

The five-year-old is Lavelle's first runner in a blue-riband event, lining up in the Champion Hurdle on Tuesday.

Lavelle told BBC Radio Solent: "He's been revitalised by a break, and he had a great racecourse gallop at Kempton last week.

"It's a massive ask to win, but we're hopeful that he'll run a big race."

Crack Away Jack is available at around 14/1 in the market, which is headed by Nicky Henderson's Binocular.

Lavelle has four other chances throughout the Festival, and rates Pause And Clause as her best hope. He runs in the Coral Cup on Wednesday.

Other representatives of the stable near Andover, Hampshire, are Kangaroo Court in the Supreme Novices' on Tuesday, and Amore Mio in the Fred Winter on Wednesday.

Chariot Charger also runs on the final day in the Albert Bartlett Hurdle.
