Replay: Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe
German trainer Pavel Vovcenko is to appeal against the decision to place his horse It's Gino joint third in Sunday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
The 150-1 outsider finished alongside the Aidan O'Brien-trained Soldier of Fortune in the race won by Zarkava.
But having studied the photo finish print, Vovcenko has instructed a lawyer in Paris to mount an appeal aimed at earning outright third place.
Longchamp course officials already face another inquiry over a false start.
Vovcenko has reproduced a copy of the photo from Europe's richest turf race on his official website to illustrate his case.
The Bremen-based trainer said: "I am very sorry to have had to pursue this affair after such a big race as the Arc.

"But I do have the habit of looking at photo-finishes.
"You cannot see it in the normal picture, but in the mirror image you can see he (It's Gino) has finished third.
"We have decided to appeal."
An inquiry has already been ordered into the false start to the opening Prix de l'Abbaye on Arc day.
Fleeting Spirit's stalls gate refused to open and most of the runners raced more than three furlongs.
The race was eventually re-run four hours later.
