Seamus Heffernan steered Again to success in the Moyglare Stakes
|
Again repelled the late challenge of Shimah to land the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.
David Wachman's filly travelled strongly in midfield under Seamus Heffernan and moved up to challenge for the lead inside the final two furlongs.
Shimah came out of the pack to chase her down and, although Again began to hang away from the whip slightly, she held on to win as the 6-4 favourite.
Again was stepping up to Group One company for the first time.
She had won the Debutante Stakes at Leopardstown earlier in August.
"She is a nice filly and Seamie gave her a great ride," said trainer Wachman.
"I was concerned this run may have come a bit too quickly for her, but she did it really nicely.
"She is really a horse for next year because she is still big and weak - she is going to make an exciting three-year-old."
