Gosden plans to give Raven's Pass a prep race
|
Trainer John Gosden has targeted one of two prep races for his 2000 Guineas hope Raven's Pass.
The second favourite in the ante-post betting will either run in next week's Craven Stakes at Newmarket or the Greenham Stakes at Newbury.
Gosden told the BBC: "He's a little bit fizzy and full of himself and needs a prep race to settle him down.
"I'm happy with the horse, I couldn't be more pleased physically with how he's done and he's working nicely."
Gosden is planning to send Sense of Joy into the 1000 Guineas without a prep race.
"She's a filly who travels very well in a race and is very professional.
"Her coat hasn't quite come yet and understandably she's not sure whether it's winter or attempting to be spring but if I give her that extra it will suit her."
Sense of Joy is generally quoted as an 8-1 shot for the fillies' classic on the second day of the Guineas Festival at Newmarket which is on 3 and 4 May.
