Saturday's racing bulletin
Racing

Saturday's Five Live selection is Thunder Storm Cat in the 1540 at Haydock(all times BST).

Racing today comes from Haydock Park, Newmarket, Catterick, Beverley, Cartmel and Stratford upon Avon.

Newmarket start racing their seven-race card at 1345 and the ground is good to firm.

The sprint handicap at 1520 is one of the big betting races of the day and Sandrey is sure to be a popular selection.

Peter Chapple-Hyam's colt could not have been more impressive at Lingfield and has, according to the trainer, improved since.

A huge crowd is expected at Haydock where racing begins at 1405. The ground is good to firm with firm places which is ideal for today's best bet Thunder Storm Cat in the 1540.

Paul Cole's horse has improved with both starts this season and is closely handicapped with the fancied Aqmaar. He finished a length behind the colt at Newmarket but is fancied to turn the tables.

Catterick start racing at 1440 and the ground is good to firm with firm places.

Zomerlust in the 1545 is not a horse to trust but has been running in some really competitive handicaps and this looks his easiest task for some time.

Beverley race on good to firm ground and racing begins at 1400.

Fast Feet has done nothing wrong in three starts and deserves to win today. He has plenty of speed and should outclass his rivals in the 1530.

Jump racing at Stratford begins at 1745 and the ground is good with some good to firm places on the hurdles track. Tom Greenall, who rides the fancied Le Passing in the 1920, will be crowned champion amateur.

It is Cartmel's first meeting of the season and they start at 1730 and race on good ground with the odd good to firm place. Ross Comm should outclass his rivals in the 1900.

The big race in Ireland today is the 2000 Guineas where Cockney Rebel bids to follow up his win in the English version.

Trainer Geoff Huffer told Breakfast: "He's in great form and worked brilliantly last week". Asked about his chances today he said: "He'll win!''
