Simply Perfect put in a strong display of front running to claim victory in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket.
Johnny Murtagh was a comfortable winner on Simply Perfect
Johnny Murtagh allowed his Jeremy Noseda-trained charge to set the pace from the start and she was never headed after that.
When he urged his mount to quicken in the final couple of furlongs, she responded superbly to beat South African challenger Irridescence by a length with Arch Swing back in third.
"I didn't think there was going to be much pace in the race so I thought she might get an easy lead," said Murtagh.
"Jeremy thought she might be a bit keen but I told him she would settle. She
was looking round a bit but she was all go and when I got to the three pole, I
thought 'she isn't going to get beat today'."
Noseda added: "Great credit to Johnny. She is a very tough filly. She has been going since before Royal Ascot last year and she has now won a Group One at two and three."
Earlier, You'resothrilling made up for an unlucky run at Royal Ascot with a last-gasp victory in the Cherry Hinton Stakes.
Mick Kinane's mount was second behind Nijoom Dubai in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot when she went off as favourite.
But she made up for that defeat when she ran on well at the stands rail to win from 40-1 shot Festoso with Queen Mary winner Elletelle a further neck away in third.
