Tuesday's racing bulletin
Racing
The Five Live selection is Transvestite in the 1600 at Brighton (all times BST).

Racing on Monday comes from Brighton, Newton Abbot, Nottingham and Carlisle.

Brighton's competitive looking card starts at 1400 and the ground is predictably firm.

The seven-race programme features the £30,000 handicap at 1600. Oddsmaker is the likely favourite and should go well, but he was flattered to win at Haydock where jockey Dean McKeown out-rode his rivals.

The value bet is the John Hills-trained Transvestite. The gelding ran well last time out at Nottingham but could have easily finished closer had his jockey not dropped his whip a furlong from the finish.

Dean Corby is replaced by the trainer's nephew Patrick, who won on the horse at Sandown. The horse continues to rise in the weights so Patrick Hills' 7Ib will be vital.

Jump racing at Newton Abbot starts at 1415 and the ground is good to firm with good places. Escompteur in the 1515 has never lived up to early expectations but runs well fresh.

Timmy Murphy's quiet style seems to suit the gelding who looks the value against the exposed Borehill Joker.

Trainer Paul Blockley runs three in the 1545 and it could be worth taking a punt on the outsider of the trio. Mambo Sun has yet to run over hurdles but has schooled well at home.

Nottingham's evening card begins at 1745 and the ground is good with good-to-firm places. First-season trainer Tom Dascombe is doing well and the small stable can have another winner with Luis Melendez in the opening contest.

The gelding only cost £1,500 but won well at Newbury nine days ago and looks capable of adding to his winning run.

Carlisle start racing at 1800 and the ground is good to firm with firm places. It is interesting that trainer Tim Easterby runs Durova in the maiden at 1830 rather than go for a nursery.

She was beaten when hot favourite at Musselburgh last time but it had rained heavily before the race and these faster conditions will suit much better.
