Scorpion broke the track record as he won the Group One Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp.
The Irish Derby runner-up, trained by Aidan O'Brien, was kept prominent throughout under Kieren Fallon and led as the field entered the home straight.
The son of Montjeu was briefly challenged by Desideratum two furlongs from home, but quickened away for a clear-cut success.
Orion Star finished third, with John Gosden's Plea Bargain in fourth.
