Kieren Fallon overcame a high draw in stall 19 to ride favourite Mullins Bay to victory in the John Smith's Cup at York on Saturday.
Fallon continued his successful partnership with Aidan O'Brien, coming home three lengths clear of Crow Wood with Realism in third.
"All you need is the horse and a little bit of luck, and I had both today," said Fallon.
"Last year's winner came from out there - I was confident I had a good horse."
