Footstepsinthesand out of Derby
Footstepsinthesand
Footstepsinthesand will miss the Irish 2,000 Guineas and Derby
Aidan O'Brien still has seven chances of a third win in the Epsom Derby on 4 June after taking out just Albert Hall and Footstepsinthesand on Thursday.

Chester Vase winner Gypsy King heads the team for the Ballydoyle trainer, who was successful with Galileo (2001) and High Chaparral (2002).

O'Brien can also choose from Oratorio, Scorpion, Indigo Cat, Grand Central, Almighty and Falstaff.

A total of 27 were left in the 4 June Classic after Thursday's declaration.

Ante-post favourite for the race is the Michael Bell-trained Motivator, who won the Racing Post Trophy last year and began his three-year-old campaign by capturing the Dante Stakes at York earlier this month.

Godolphin have left in three entries as champion jockey Frankie Dettori aims to land the one Classic to so far elude him.

They are Irish 2,000 Guineas ante-post favourite Dubawi, French 2,000 Guineas winner Shamardal and Belenus, who was third in the Predominate Stakes at Goodwood earlier this week.

Sir Michael Stoute, who trained last year's winner North Light, has just one entry, Karliyna, who is owned by the Aga Khan. There is a £75,000 supplementary entry stage on 31 May.

Footstepsinthesand, the 2,000 Guineas winner, will also miss Saturday's Irish 2,000 Guineas following a slight setback.
