Wednesday's racing bulletin
The Five Live selection is Bonanza in the 1620 at Goodwood (all times BST).

Wednesday's race meetings come from Goodwood, Kelso, Southwell, Sedgefield and Folkestone.

The ground at Goodwood is good to firm, with the clerk of the course, Seamus Buckley, describing it as perfect flat-race conditions.

The track holds its annual Derby and Oaks trials at 1440 and 1515.

The Predominate Stakes only has four runners but is not short on interest.

Frankie Dettori's mount Belenus won his only start last season and is highly rated.

The colt has a derby entry but must win impressively to take up that engagement.

The Lupe Stakes at 1515 looks more open with the verdict going to the one-time raced Element of Truth. Both races can be heard on BBC Radio Five Live.

Best bet of the day is the unraced colt Bonanza, who represents the in-form Aidan O'Brien-Kieren Fallon team.

The horse is well bred and has been the subject of very positive rumours from his Ballydoyle stable.

The ground at Kelso for the first day of the their festival is good to firm with good places.

Jockey Warren Marston is riding with plenty of confidence at present and can continue his good run with Lawgiver in the 1430.

The evening cards are both National Hunt and the news from the tracks is that Sedgefield is good to firm with good places while the United Hunts Hunter chase programme at Folkestone is good to firm.
