Crimestoppers has linked up with the horse racing world for a crackdown on racetrack crime including allegations of race-fixing.
The charity allows members of the public to pass on information about crime anonymously.
Together with the Jockey Club and the Racecourse Association (RCA), they are encouraging racegoers to report any suspicious activity at race meetings.
The RCA's courses, including Newmarket and Aintree and York, back the plan.
The venture was launched at Newmarket on Thursday with banners advertising the Crimestoppers telephone number alongside the track.
Racecards will display the number - 0800 555 111.
The integrity of the sport has been called into question in recent months after an on-going City of London police investigation into allegations of race fixing.
A total of 27 people have been arrested and bailed in connection with the inquiry, including former champion jockey Kieren Fallon, who denies any wrongdoing.
"We are appealing for information on all forms of criminal activity which relate to the sport of horse racing," said Jockey Club Director of Security Paul Scotney.
"We would specifically request those who may have information involving corruption or malpractice to use the number in confidence."
