Saturday's racing bulletin

The Five Live selection is Lost Soldier Three in the 1435 at Newmarket (all times BST).

Racing on Saturday comes from Newmarket, Haydock Park, Ripon, Brighton and Market Rasen.

Newmarket's card is a star-studded affair with the Queen Elizabeth II stakes at 1620 the jewel in the crown.

Best bet of the day is Lost Soldier Three in the 1435. Luca Cumani's horse ran well finishing third in a Doncaster handicap last time out and has a weight advantage over Sendintank who won that race. Kieren Fallon rides the horse who goes well at this track.

The ground at Haydock is good to soft with good places. The valuable handicap at 1535 looks tailor-made for the Neville Callaghan-trained Tony the Tap.

Jump racing at Market Rasen has an exciting runner in Irisi's Gift who runs over fences for only the second time.

A former champion staying hurdler, granted a clear round he looks as near a racing certainty as there is. Tony McCoy rides and the race goes off at 1445.

Brighton have a matinee card starting at 1120 and the ground is firm. While at Ripon the ground is perfect and is described by the clerk of the course as good. Linda Green has everything right for her in the 1730.
