Fairmile loss reversed on appeal
Fairmile has been awarded the Sodexho Prestige Handicap Stakes after an appeal by trainer Walter Swinburn.

Swinburn contested the decision of the Sandown stewards not to give the race to his runner after South O'The Border appeared to interfere the runner-up.

Local officials judged any interference by the Shane Kelly-ridden winner was accidental, and the result stood.

But a Jockey Club disciplinary panel reversed it after hearing evidence from Swinburn and rider Adam Kirby.

Having also viewed a recording of the race, the panel found South O'The Border had drifted left causing Fairmile to lose momentum.
