Friday's racing bulletin
The Five Live selection is Adoration in the 1640 at Haydock (all times BST).

Friday's racing pages are dominated by news of "the gamble of the season" on Gift Horse in Saturday's Sprint Cup at Haydock.

The horse is part-owned by Henry Rix who runs a telephone tipping service.

He advised his customers to back the horse ahead of his previous success in the Stewards Cup at Goodwood and Thursday's recommendation to back the horse again resulted in a sudden surge of activity in the ante-post markets.

Gift Horse was available at 8-1 at the start of the week and is now as low as 3-1 second favourite. Proclamation remains the favourite at 7-4.

The going for Friday's card at Haydock is now good to soft, good in places after a dry night.

The Linda Ramsden-trained Along The Nile is fancied by many to make it four wins from five starts, which means the likely danger Adoration should go off at a decent price.

Mark Johnston's three-year-old faded into third place at Goodwood last time out over nine furlongs and should benefit from the drop back down to a mile.

The going at Chepstow is good to firm. Milton Bradley's Trevian was a winner here on Monday and can complete a quick-fire double under Lisa Jones despite a six-pound penalty in the 1630.

They've been watering the track at Newmarket to maintain good to firm going.

Kieren Fallon has five rides and the pick of them looks to be Dubai Venture in the 1545.
