Saturday's racing bulletin
The Five Live selection is Mr Ed in the 1535 at Newton Abbot (all times BST).

Racing on Saturday comes from Sandown Park, Newton Abbot, Beverley, Lingfield Park and Redcar.

It's the popular Variety Club day at Sandown Park and a big crowd is expected.

The going has changed slightly and is now soft but there are some good to soft places on the round course.

Musicana in the 1350 is sure to be popular with punters having won her last two starts easily. Johnny Murtagh has been booked to ride the improving filly.

Saabiq, in the 1420, looked a useful prospect when winning over course and distance last time and will be hard to beat.

Chester had 2mm of rain overnight and the ground is good to firm and good in places.

Jagger disappointed at York earlier in the week but can bounce back to form in the less competitive 1405.

Paper Talk in the 1510 should go well from a favourable stall number.

Beverley have good to soft ground although there are some good places for their richest ever day's racing.

The Beverley Bullet is the feature contest at 1445.

A high-numbered stall is always an advantage over the sprint distances so Baltic King in stall eight has an outstanding chance.

It's the first day of Newton Abbot's summer festival and the ground is perfect.

It is officially good with good to firm places.

The most valuable contest is the summer chase at 1535 where Mr Ed is the most interesting runner.

His trainer Peter Bowen is in top form and this horse, although still technically a novice, can go well as he is sure to get the strong pace he enjoys.

Tony Dobbin has travelled a long way from Cumbria to ride which is another positive for the flashy chestnut.

The evening racing at Lingfield begins at 1720 and the ground is good to firm with good places on the turf course while the polytrack is standard.

At Redcar the action gets under way at 1735 and the ground is good. Linda Green is worth a second glance in the first race.
