Cheltenham's Paddy Power Gold Cup at 1445 is the highlight on a busy afternoon of horse racing.
The valuable contest has attracted a quality field of 14 which include last year's winner Fondmort, the well-handicapped Monkerhostin and the improving novice Ollie Magern.
The dark horse in the race is Monkerhostin's stablemate Farmer Jack.
The gelding had a miserable time last season failing to reach the winner's enclosure but this year the horse seems better than ever as he demonstrated when winnning at Aintree recently.
Farmer Jack survived a minor injury scare during the week but is fighting fit for the big race.
Jockey Timmy Murphy was in double form yesterday and should have another profitable day with Vodka Bleu in the 1335 and Therealbandit in the 1410.
Phar Bleu showed up nicely last time out at Wetherby and can run a big race at a decent price in the 1555.
The ground at Cheltenham is perfect and is officially good according to clerk of the course Simon Claisse.
There is also racing today at Uttoxeter, Wetherby and Wolverhampton and Lingfield on the Polytrack all-weather.
The ground at Wetherby is good with good to soft patches which will be ideal for Middlethorpe in the 1400.
At Uttoxeter, the ground is easier and is officially soft with good to soft places with
Alfa Sunrise expected to go well in the 1530.
Following a dry night both Lingfield and Wolverhampton describe their Polytrack surface as standard.
