Wednesday's racing bulletin

The Five Live selection is Rooster's Reunion in the 1625 at Uttoxeter (all times BST).

Once more the headlines are all about Frankie Dettori and Kieren Fallon.

Bookmakers Ladbrokes have already started paying out to punters who backed Dettori in the jockeys' championship.

He has 182 winners to date to Fallon's 168, with 23 racing days left of the turf Flat season.

Fallon had hoped to close the gap at Lingfield on Wednesday, where the six-time champion jockey was booked for eight rides, compared to Dettori's six.

But the Irishman has decided to extend his break from action until Friday after suffering a bad fall on Monday.

Dettori has a nice book of rides and the Italian should be successful aboard Happy as Larry in the 1315 and Emerald Lodge in the 1600.

There is a good fixture at Wetherby, where champion jockey Tony McCoy has just two rides.

McCoy will have primarily travelled to ride Nawamees in the 1535, although top weight Howle Hill will be a tough nut to crack.

National Hunt racing is starting to take precedence over the Flat and the other meeting of the day comes from Uttoxeter.

Rooster's Reunion in the 1625 looks an interesting prospect, having won his last race at Huntingdon very easily.

The horse returns from a 221-day break but David Gandolfo's horses are normally very fit so the absence is not a worry.
