Frankie Dettori took advantage of rival Kieren Fallon's absence to edge closer to the Flat jockeys' crown on Tuesday.
The Italian was successful aboard 4-9 favourite Mansfield Park in a fillies' conditions race at Leicester to stretch his lead to 14.
Dettori, who rode a treble on Monday, now has 182 winners to Fallon's 168.
Fallon had hoped to ride on Tuesday but was stood down by the course doctor after a crashing tumble 24 hours earlier.
However, none of his intended mounts won and the Irish jockey has vowed to fight on, beginning at Lingfield on Wednesday, provided he is passed fit by the racecourse doctor.
After two trebles in three days, Dettori might have expected more than just one winner from his eight rides on Tuesday.
But bookmakers Ladbrokes announced they would be paying out on bets for Dettori to be champion jockey from Wednesday morning.
