Newmarket trainer Gay Kelleway has been fined £4,500 over her association with a tipping website.
She was ordered to pay £2,000 for a breach of the rule which deals with bringing racing into disrepute and £2,500 for attempting to mislead a Jockey Club official during his investigation.
The Jockey Club launched the investigation last November after being alerted to an advertisement for a betting syndicate.
The website offered the opportunity to subscribe in order to receive information from Kelleway about her horses.
Kelleway said she felt she had been "unfairly treated" by the Jockey Club and is considering an appeal.
Jockey Club public relations director John Maxse said: "The panel found that
she allowed her name to be used without finding out more about the venture.
"When interviewed by an investigating officer on this potentially grave
matter, she failed to take it seriously and gave a number of misleading and in
some cases sarcastic replies.
"In recent years the publicity surrounding such television programmes as
Panorama and the press coverage of racing in general has placed the focus on the
sport's integrity.
"Everybody within the sport has the responsibility to uphold the integrity of
racing."
