German outsider Epalo won the Singapore Airlines International Cup, the second leg of the 2004 World Series Racing Championship on Sunday.
Jockey Andrasch Starke took the five-year-old into the lead from the start and ended the race five lengths ahead of Surveyor.
Early favourite, Bowman's Crossing, grabbed third.
The series now moves to England for the King George VI & QE Diamond Stakes at Ascot in July.
Last year's race in Singapore was cancelled over fears of severe acute respiratory syndrome, which killed 33 people in the country.
The only British challenger, Imperial Dancer, finished sixth.
The Mick Channon-trained runner kept on well from the rear in the hands of Ted
Durcan, and came home eight and a half lengths behind the winner.
