Cheltenham's big owners
Which colours will be most in evidence at the Cheltenham Festival - and who do they belong to?

JP McManus

Nicknamed 'The Sundance Kid' for his fearless gambling exploits, the former Irish bookie made his fortune in the currency market.

Owner of the legendary Istabraq. His unobtrusive manner belies a big mover and shaker - his friends include Tiger Woods and Sir Alex Ferguson.

Colours stem from those of his local GAA club in Limerick.
Main Festival hopes: Like-A-Butterfly, Flagship Uberalles, Baracouda

Jim Lewis

Dapper Brummie has a small but classy string of horses that many bigger owners would kill for.

Even before the arrival of Best Mate, Edredon Bleu's gutsy successes had endeared him to the public and earned his owner the nickname of 'Lucky Jim'.

Lewis' colours reflect his other passion - Aston Villa.
Main Festival hopes: Best Mate, Edredon Bleu, Impek.

David Johnson

The son of an East End docker, Johnson now runs a finance company and his string of horses forms the backbone of Martin Pipe's yard.

Champion owner last season but has yet to have a real superstar.
Main Festival hopes: Cyfor Malta, Lady Cricket

Sir Robert Ogden

Publicity-shy Yorkshire industrialist who was knighted for his services to charity.

His horses are scattered among a handful of trainers.
Main Festival hopes: Marlborough, Brother Joe

Trevor Hemmings

Began his career as a bricklayer and built up his fortune through holiday camps.

Another who spreads his horses around several trainers.
Main Festival hope: Chives

Macca & Growler Partnership

Better known as top footballers Steve McManaman and Robbie Fowler.

The Scouse double act have several horses with Martin Pipe, many of whom have been bought from Germany by ex-jockey Graham Bradley.
Main Festival hope: Seebald
