Racing bulletin: Friday's action
BBC Sport Online's looks at the day's racing news
BBC Radio Five Live tip is Izdiham in the 1415 at Sandown Park. All times BST.

The start of the two-day Eclipse meeting at Sandown Park is the highlight of a busy day's racing, which includes eight meetings in Britain and Ireland.

At Sandown (starts 1345), the ground is good and good to soft in places on the round course and good to soft and good in places on the straight course.

There are two good handicaps, and Fool on the Hill, who has won his last two races at Newbury and Bath is well fancied in the 1450 in which Kings Mill will be suited by the likely easing of the ground.

In the 1525, Prairie Dunes might be worth a look as conditions have come in his favour.

Before that, in the 1415, the three year old Izdiham, second at Royal Ascot is a fascinating runner.

Evening bonus

Further afternoon meetings take place at Warwick and Wolverhampton and there is a bumper evening menu at Haydock Park, Salisbury and Beverley - and the Irish cards at Bellewstown and Limerick.

Warwick starts at 1405 with the ground good and good to firm in places after overnight rain.

Fourth Dimension bids for his fourth straight win in the 1510 on a very difficult card for punters.

There is a jump meeting at Wolverhampton, one of two days a year when the turf track at Dunstall Park is in use.

Having shocked the racing world by taking a day off on Thursday to receive an Honorary Doctorate from Belfast University, champion jockey Tony McCoy is back in the saddle here with a number of fancied mounts.

Haydock starts at 1855, while at Salisbury champion jockey Kieran Fallon may take the 1905 with Steeelannich

Beverley's first race is at 1845 and Tony Culhane could be among the winners with Sherrif Shift and Late Arrival among his eye catching mounts at the Humberside track.
